Stories & Sutras -4 week Fall into Bliss- Online

What does bliss mean to you? We will explore the qualities of Bliss- specifically into the Savory, Salty and Sweet- writing from our experiences, discovering new insights and rewiring pathways to appreciate the complexity of bliss. Honoring the season of Fall, we will harvest words, wisdom and share in the common themes of change, as a catalyst for creativity.

We begin with a somatic practice—breath, movement, stillness—to relax the inner critic, calm the nervous system, and open the door to your authentic voice. From this embodied presence, creativity expands and perspectives shift. You’ll discover new meaning in lived experience while coloring in the details of your dreams.

Guided toward a sutra—a simple strand of wisdom—you’ll receive a writing prompt that sparks the page. Here, there is no right or wrong. You simply write from the heart, creating art that is unedited, unfiltered, raw, and real.

Sharing is an invitation, never an obligation. When words are spoken aloud, we listen for strengths, reflecting only the beauty of the work. In this safe container, creativity is nurtured without judgment. We honor each voice, notice how the words speak to one another, and witness the ways our inner landscapes weave common themes. Confidence grows—on the page and in life.

Together, we remember what it means to belong—to ourselves, to each other, and to the greater thread of humanity. Come, share your words and wisdom, and help co-create this living masterpiece.

Breathwork Journey into Bliss

Did you know that you can breathe into bliss? Like all good things, it takes a little effort, yet one breath at a time we embark on a journey to release feel good chemicals in the brain, stuck energy in the body and ease into freedom. We begin with gentle belly breaths to relax the nervous system and anchor into support. Then guided through dynamic, high ventilation breathing to induce new perspectives and release issues in the tissues, through an empowering trauma informed framework. We conclude with a grounding meditation and integration to validate your experience and honor the transformative benefits of your breathwork journey. Participants often experience stress and tension relief, support in managing anxiety and depression, enhanced cognitive clarity, heightened self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, and deep gratitude for the breath, and co-creation with a sacred community.

Alysa Osvog, Certified Yoga Therapist, ReWild Trauma Informed Breathwork and Gateless Trained Writing Facilitator has led transformational experiences for over a decade, primarily in therapeutic settings in Orange County and Bali. In 2024 she was inspired by the tranquility of SYV offering an ideal setting to open HAUS Healing Arts Studio. Her style is welcoming, playful and wise. "I believe in the power of breath, movement and creative expression to help others through personal growth and pivotal healing, by illuminating that sacred space within."

Tame your Nervous System and Empower your Choices with Julie

The body remembers what the mind would like to forget. We have long been hardwired to record trauma in our nervous system, as it has been essential to our survival to know what is safe and what is not. Once the body feels there is no longer a perceived threat, one can discover a sense of agency and safety, and learn how to make new decisions and choices from the prefrontal cortex where higher-level thinking lives. These decisions are not made from a frightened, overwhelmed, or underwhelmed nervous system, but from one that is coherent and balanced with the body & mind. There is less shame and more freedom when we help the body come along with us into the present moment, and less resistance to moving fully into our lives.

Julie Samuels-Metheany has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and is a somatic practitioner who has worked and lived in the Santa Ynez Valley for 20+ years. She is also a Nutritionist with 30 years of experience in the Eating Disorder field. Julie uses Somatic Experiencing Training and Inner Relationship Focusing Parts work (IRF) to help clients uncover and understand their trauma imprints and patterns (Flight, Fight, Freeze, Fawn) so they can build more conscious relationships with themselves and others.
